Tourist Attractions in Orlando

When planning your trip to Orlando to visit the Walt Disney World Resort, don’t forget to check out other Orlando tourist attractions.  With the throngs of tourists visiting the area every year, there are many unusual and interesting attractions to vie for your attention during your Florida stay.

Of course, there are other theme parks in the area, including Universal Studios, with its new Harry Potter area.

SeaWorld Orlando

This marine theme park contains several thrill rides, including a huge state-of-the-art roller coaster, but the main attractions are the marine shows featuring seals, dolphins, killer whales and water skiing acrobatics.

Busch Gardens Tampa Bay

A unique blend of thrilling rides, one of the country’s premier zoos featuring nearly 3,000 animals, live shows, restaurants, shops and games, Busch Gardens provides unrivaled excitement for guests of every age.

Orlando Science Center
The Orlando Science Center is a hands-on place of learning, where kids and adults can discover the world of science in fun and interesting surroundings.

Ripley’s Believe It or Not
Looking like its about to disappear into a gaping Florida sinkhole, Ripley’s Believe It Or Not is all about the weird, the unbelievable and the bizarre. Explorer Robert Ripley spent much of his life assembling a vast collection of human, animal, and scientific oddities from around the globe.

Titanic-The Experience
The only permanent exhibit of the ill-fated liner, Titanic- The Exhibition takes up where the film left off. Character actors tell the stories of those who survived and those who did not.

Gatorland
The self proclaimed ‘Alligator Capital of The World’, Gatorland is home to hundreds of Florida’s original residents (the long scaly kind!).

This is just the tip of the iceberg!  There are many more tourist attractions in Orlando.  Be sure to include one or more other Orlando attractions when you travel to Disney World.

Travel Disney and save!

Travel Disney

With some simple and basic planning your travel to Disney doesn’t have to break the bank.  You can take your family on a magical Disney vacation for a reasonable price.   Disney vacation deals are abundant, so it is time to get planning!

Disney travel deals

First, what kinds of deals are available? Disney vacation deals differ depending upon the time of year and the state of the economy. In 2009, for instance, Disney is offering a promotion which offers one day of free admission to one of the four parks in Disney World or the two parks in Disneyland on your birthday. All you need is to show a valid ID as proof of your birthday and viola-you have free entrance to the magic!

In addition to special promotions such as the birthday deal, which is available to all guests regardless of where you are staying, there are other discounts that are offered only for those who stay on-site. It is important to familiarize yourself with the “seasons” at the Disney resorts/parks. The best discounts are offered in “value season” which typically includes mid-August to mid-November, late November to mid-December, and January (after New Years). Crowds are low at this time of year, so Disney is inclined to attract visitors with deep discounts. During these months, Disney offers hotel discounts on top of the already low prices in the form of “discounted room-only rates” — low rates for hotels when you purchase a Disney World hotel stay separately from your ticket purchase. Also, in August and September, “free dining” is offered for those who purchase a Disney resort stay plus tickets.

How can you find these Disney vacation deals? Well whatever you do, do not purchase a Disney vacation or hotel stay at sticker price. The official Disney websites will allow you to price and purchase a vacation package or a room or tickets separately, but it will not generally tell you what deals you may be eligible for. Most of the deals must be booked over the phone using a special “code.” Your best bet to find the deals is to frequently check unofficial Disney vacation planning websites. A quick web search and you’ll find tons of sites which will keep you updated on the latest Disney deals. Once you have a code, you’re just a quick phone call away from your Disney vacation!

Discount Travel Disney

Disney World in Orlando, Florida, is one of my favorite places. If you are planning an Orlando Disney vacation and are looking for information on this extremely fun and fantastic theme park, read on for some tips on how you can save some money.

First, forget about the myth that Disney is only for those with a money tree growing in their yard. This is not true at all. A Disney vacation can be affordable, so don’t despair if you are on a budget.

If you are not within easy driving distance and plan to fly, you can save a little by choosing one of the no-frills discount airline services like JetBlue. You can usually save on airfare with these airlines. Another tip for airfare savings is to make sure you don’t forget to check the prices for flights to nearby cities. Sometimes you can save quite a bit by just driving an extra hour to another city.

If you are planning to stay at a hotel on the Disney property you will pay more for the hotel but you can save money on a rental car at the same time. Keep in mind that Disney has a wide range of hotels with varying prices from their version of value priced such as All-Star Movies, All-Star Music, All-Star Sports, and Pop Century Resort up to the deluxe resorts such as Yacht Club, Wilderness Lodge, Polynesian, Contemporary, and Grand Floridian among others. You can find much cheaper hotels off the Disney property but you will need to rent a car. The great thing about staying on property is you can get around totally by Disney transportation.

You can save money on souvenirs by buying them at discount stores like Wal-Mart. Of course, the quality may not be the same so you can probably only get away with this if you have very young children. But it is a good savings tip for keeping on a budget for your Orlando Disney vacation. I hope this information can help you save a bit of money on your trip.

Working With a Travel Disney Specialist

Often times when a family, couple or even an individual begins to plan travel to a Disney theme park, it can be very difficult to find the right starting point. With so many choices, prices and packages, it can get very difficult to isolate the right steps to properly secure a Disney vacation package. You might find yourself in need of a Disney  travel specialist.

There are many fly by nights in the travel industry and many who claim to be the best but at the end of the day it is important to work with someone you trust and are confident will get the job done right. A Disney travel specialist is someone you can rely on to help you find the right package for you and your family so that you will get the most out of your Disney vacation.

Working with a non travel Disney certified  agent can leave your vacation with empty holes or unfit excursions. A Disney specialist is one who has frequented the parks regularly and is knowledgeable of every aspect and square inch of the park. When planning a vacation it is important to put your planning into the hands of a professional so that you trip will carry on as smooth as possible. Making sure you have the right specialist will be important.

Here are some pointers to look at when picking the right travel specialist so that your Disney vacation goes as planned:

- Check their Resume: Most travel Disney specialist professionals are not scared to show you their resume. Finding a specialist with travel experience will be very important. Don’t be scared to ask a Disney specialist for their resume.

- Get a Referral: Ask all your friends if they have anyone that comes recommended. Chances are someone in your circle of friends knows someone who can help you plan your Disney vacation.

- Probe them: Don’t be scared to ask them detailed questions about the parks. If they are truly a certified Disney travel specialist they should have no problems answering your difficult questions.

- Search their Name: If you find someone you are interested in working with search for their name in the search engines. If they have done a great job in the past for others it will show. If they have disappointed others in the past then that will also show.

Disney vacations do not come cheap so it is important to always work with the best. Choosing to not work with the best could result in a negative experience for you and your family. Many families only have one opportunity per year to travel and enjoy this experience, so do not let it go blundered by working with an inexperienced Disney travel specialist. A great way to narrow down some local in your area is by using a search engine. Many Disney travel specialists are listed on the internet by combining your area with certain search terms you can help yourself by narrowing down a list of potential help right in your area.
